Oreck Vacuum Clean for the Cure Campaign Begins

Oreck recently kicked off its "Clean for the Cure" campaign that raises money for the Susan G. Komen for the Cure foundation. This is the second year Oreck has sponsored the campaign.

Oreck has pledged a donation of at least $500,000 to breast cancer research. The funds will be augmented by the sale of the Pink Oreck XL® Ultra Hypo-Allergenic Plus Vacuum Cleaner.

This special Oreck vacuum has a sassy pink design and the traditional Oreck quality. Part of the profits from the sale of the vacuum will go to help fight breast cancer.

There is no limit on what Oreck will donate from the sales. For each vacuum sold, the company will give $50 to Susan G. Komen.

History of the Oreck Vacuum

The history of the Oreck vacuum begins in 1963 when founder David Oreck started his own company. The corporation got its start in Cookeville, TN.

When he founded the company, Oreck wanted to create a lightweight, durable vacuum for hotel housekeepers. The lighter Oreck model would replace the bulky, heavy models that were the standard of the day.
