Fastest Motor in the World to Appear in Dyson Vacuum Cleaners

vacuum cleaners

Sir James Dyson, the maker of Dyson vacuum cleaners, has unveiled a new hand-held vacuum with what he claims is the fastest motor in the world. The engine is allegedly ten times faster than than of a Boeing 747 jet.

The vacuum model is called the DC-31. The hand-vac is the first vacuum to use a digital switch reluctance motor.

Sir Dyson has suggested the vacuum is just the first of many devices that will eventually use the motor. He sees applications for it in everything from blenders to electric vehicles.

The motor makes 104,000 revolutions per minute, which is fives times faster than the engine of a Formula 1 car. The only device faster is the drill of a dentist, but Dyson claims that doesn't count because it's a turbine, not a motor.

The Dyson DC25, the vacuum after which the character is fashioned, is one of Dyson's latest models. The roller-ball technology allows users to steer the vacuum with a small turn of the wrist.

The vacuum ranges in price from $450-$500. You can check out the Dyson Transformer when the movie debuts on June 24, 2009.

Miele Vacuums Reviews by Consumers

miele vacuums reviews

The most accurate Miele vacuums reviews tend to be those written by consumers who actually own the vacuums. Read on to learn about sites where you can read these reviews.

One site you might try is Epinions.com in the "vacuum" category. You can search for reviews by vacuum brand, price range, or features.

Epinions gives users the chance to rate Miele vacuums on a scale from one to five stars, with five being the best. Consumers can then write a short review to explain their rating.

Retailer Amazon.com also sells Miele vacuums and allows shoppers to rate their purchases. However, Amazon.com reviews tend to be shorter and less thorough than those provided on Epinions.com.

Review of Boss Smart-Vac Upright Eureka Vacuums

eureka vacuums

One of the best-selling Eureka vacuums currently on the market is the 4870GZ Boss Smart-Vac Upright vacuum. Read on to learn some of the pros and cons of this machine.

The Boss Smart-Vac is an extremely powerful vacuum with a reasonable price. The 4870GZ usually sells for $149-$159, which is fairly cheap by today's standards.

One of the most unique features of the 4870GZ is its Air Control System. This system allows users to direct all of the air flow either into the carpet for a deep suction clean or into the hose for more superficial cleaning.

The 4870GZ is very highly rated by customers on a variety of different sites, but some users complain that the attached hose is not long enough. Areas that are high up are sometimes difficult to reach with the attachments as a result.

How a Vacuum Pump Can Fix Your Car's A/C

vacuum pump

A vacuum pump can help you determine if your car's air-conditioning system is leaking. If you decide to buy a pump, you can purchase one for about $200.

To use the pump on your car's A/C, it must be hooked up to a refrigerant gauge. On the gauges, there should be a port in the middle where you can connect vacuum pumps.

Once the vacuum is hooked up properly, leave it running for about 20-30 minutes with your engine off. If the gauge still reads the same pressure as when you left, you do not have a leak.

At this point, you can add refrigerant to your system. If you're unsure how to do this or don't have a pump, any mechanic should be able to help you.
