Fastest Motor in the World to Appear in Dyson Vacuum Cleaners

Sir James Dyson, the maker of Dyson vacuum cleaners, has unveiled a new hand-held vacuum with what he claims is the fastest motor in the world. The engine is allegedly ten times faster than than of a Boeing 747 jet.
The vacuum model is called the DC-31. The hand-vac is the first vacuum to use a digital switch reluctance motor.
Sir Dyson has suggested the vacuum is just the first of many devices that will eventually use the motor. He sees applications for it in everything from blenders to electric vehicles.
The motor makes 104,000 revolutions per minute, which is fives times faster than the engine of a Formula 1 car. The only device faster is the drill of a dentist, but Dyson claims that doesn't count because it's a turbine, not a motor.
